Infection Event Empty Infection Event

For those who unaware of this, the new infection event is here.
The infected are special units that you can create from hurt soldiers in a special facility. Better soldiers give better infected.
I heard that bio grenadiers are one of the best canditates for infected so you should train a lot of them and let htem be defeated. Just attack a friend with them and let he defeat them, so you can infect thm.
An infection needs 5 black nanopods (drop from "wild" infected) and 8 hours.

To get the facilities for this, you have first to beat some missions. If you already beat them in the last event you have to beat them again (yeah, I know, this sucks). After this missions you should get new missions for infected animals. Train raptors, since they are the only known specimen for infections.
Here are the infected from the last event, that are still present in this event:
Creeper: Most common infected, is very weak and deals some damage, but actually you don't want to get one. Never.

Canoneer: One of the best infected with it's high damage and armor piercing, also has a high chance of critical damage against tanks (about 45%). You should get some of these.

Bullfrog: A damage over time unit with medium damage. It can attack multiple targets at once in the back row which makes it good enough for fighting enemies that take cover in the last row. But it's damage output isn't that high to deal enough damage on it's own.

Stalker: One of the best infected. It has a high amror piercing of 90% and deals also a lot of damage, again with a high crit chance of 20% against tanks. Oh, and it targets 3 (!) enemies with this. The downside is, it has to stand in the front row for this attack and lacks of any defenses so be aware that it will die often. Has also a second attack, similiar to the one of the dunewalkers from the raiders, 40% crit vs soldiers.

Colossus: Only infected with some armor. Very rare to get, only some special soldiers can be used for it (like the bio grenadier). It is supposed to be the stronges infected. It deals high damage and can stun it's targets. Consider it a infected version of the wimp (with the downside that it is rare and needs a lot of ressources to heal).

If you fight infected, be aware, that they have (except of the colossus) no ressistances, so you can use everythin against them. But they are weak against fire type damage (don't forget that chem attacks count as fire type as well).

Try to beat every infected on your base so you can get a lot of black nanopods, either for infection or for getting normal nanopods.
I'm not sure if this works, but you can also fight the infected in your friend bases, as long as he refuse the help the infected should stay on his map so he can defeat them to and since you get the rewards right after the battle you should get black nanos as well.

I hope i could help everyone who his new to this type of event. Have fun fighting the infected (I will).

Great info Vamp. And yes the Bio Grenadier is the best infection candidate. It is the only non-prestige (stars) unit that can be transformed into Arch level infected, which is the highest tier and is the only tier to produce colossi. Just make sure u all stay stocked up on vials to keep producing BGs by occupying each other's chem labs and storage facilities.

Also do not worry about infecting all your units before the end of the event. As long as u keep your infection test facility u can continue to infect units as long as u have black nanos. The infected missions and special buildings will disappear and the infected spawn rate on the world map will drop all the way down to 5% after the event ends tho, so make sure u finish them all and harvest as many black nanos as u can before then.

One last thing, the admin on the forum announced that the new missions have not been releasedyet, so only the infected missions from last year can be completed at this time. The new infected missions and units will be released sometime after this first infected event. Hope this helps!

Okay, some new information on the infected event. There are a lot of people who believe, including me, that there will be an infected boss strike right after the timer ended. The rewards are this time apex infected, a rare mutation form of infected.
You can see first pictures of this here:
http://battlenations.wikia.com/wiki/Specimen_a05_%27Apex_Bullfrog%27
http://battlenations.wikia.com/wiki/Specimen_d05_%27Apex_Stalker%27
http://battlenations.wikia.com/wiki/Specimen_e03_%27Apex_Colossus%27

This Apex Infected look a lot more scarier than their normal counterpart, especially the bullfrog in my opinion.
Unfortunaly I don't think that my wimps will be rank 6 until than, maybe rank 5, but not 6. The new boss strike comes a little too early for me, my units are still not ready from the last boss strike.
So, what do we do about this? First we should get as many infected ourselves as we could. Some of them are very usefull against infected. Why not fight zombies with zombies? Then we should train a lot of chem units (chem tanks, chem trooper, bio grenadier etc.), since this are the most useful units against the infected. Try to rank this units now, if you don't have the time to rank your wimps to r6 until the boss strike. The second most usefull units are planes, most infected cannot hit them (but we will surely face new infected types, so don't count on that). Planes are also immune to the poison effect from the bullfrogs.

So, these are my advices, rank your wimps, if you can (be aware, that the promotion also lasts 2 days), if not, rank your chem units and planes. I will also rank my Super tanks since they absorb a good amount of damage.

More info I gathered from the BN forum. There are currently 3 new types of infected: Shredders, Crawlers and Hunters. All 3 units follow the same tier ladder as previous infected units (Proto, Normal, Advanced, Arch). Shredders are infected raptors that can be created using normal battle raptors that have been wounded. They are the only unit that can become Shredders, so the resulting tier appears to be completely random and does not appear to be affected by player level or the rank of your battle raptors. Crawlers and Hunters can be created by infecting Arctic Troopers, Railgun Techs and Eagle Eyes. Since Arctic Troopers are the only one of the 3 that does require take prestige stars to produce, they are considered the cheapest and most efficient unit to transform into either Crawlers or Hunters.

I have not been able to test these theories myself but many posters on the forum have attested that this is true. If any of the information I have posted turns out to be inaccurate I will correct it here.

Infection Boss Strike has been announced. Don't forget to train your light chemical tanks.
